Grandmother Jean McDonald 64, of Chapel Hill, Braintree, Essex, is back from the dead, after she stopped breathing for more than 25 minutes. Family members had said their goodbyes after she suffered a devastating cardiac arrest – and had even snipped off locks of her hair as mementos. Doctors at Broomfield Hospital, in Chelmsford, Essex, marked her 4.5 out of 5 on the brain damage scale and warned relatives they expected her to die. But now, after a miraculous recovery, she is able to talk, eat, walk and shower, and her family hopes she will be able to return home next weekend, after her life was saved by doctors and paramedics.
